Fifty years after the first race graced the small racecourse about 20 mins from the M25, the meeting were 94 entries were made hosted a good percentage of those entries into declarations.
Six races in front of a well sized Mayday bank holiday crowd that braved a climate as muddled as a tin of spaghetti. Rain, sunshine, rainbows and the occasional thunder clap did not dampen the racing. Local wins and blanket finishes were on order for the day.

David Phelan and a jockey well known to Pointing Podcast Shane Roche took the intermediate with a 4/1 shot West lake.
The jockey's second winner for his boss over the weekend we chat to both the trainer and the Jockey about the prospects for the seven year old gelding.

A novice rider, if you can call ex international showjumper Tim Gredley that, who we have spoken to a few times throughout the season took the fourth race win of his nine year olds Silvergrove pointing career.
Beating some useful horses Remarkable Man and Abbey Lane, the gelding looked fresh as he dealt with the track that takes staying for its competitors.

The Skinners Ladies open was taken by Sa Kaldoun, owned, trained and ridden by a member of the Turner family, the 10 year old looked fresh and well to win the race in good form for the jubilant Rosie Turner, whose husband Ed trained the the horse off at 5/2, with now 6 wins from 28 starts.
We chat to the jubilant duo after the race to find out what plans for the horse, and the yard to close out the season.

The penultimate race an intermediate went to a horse who winning nine days previous well at Penhurst went to post a 4/1 shot from the bookies,and showed faith in those taking the price by winning in a tight three horse finish with Phil York in control.
The trainer of Kicker King Tim Underwood with some impressive stats himself this season was pleased but unsure where to take this well bred six year old into next.

The open maiden ended the days affair at Northaw, and in fact the season for what would be for sure a successful season for the East Anglia area.
The best sized field of the day was soon dwindled down to a few finishers for the maidens as Jonjola from the well in formed yard of Andrew Pennock who took the six year old mare to the winners enclosure from Max O trained by Dale Peters and Karen Lawthers Lucky to be alive.
