FARMERS BLOODHOUNDS AT A PERFECT WHITFIELD WITH A THOMAS DOUBLE

THE FARMERS BOOLHOUNDS MEETING AT WHITFIELD


Good Going on offer at the racecourse near the home of British Formula one.
 No Mansell's,senna's or Hamilton's but plenty of Thomas,Andrews and Bailey's to keep a well attended meet going on ground the organisers worked tirelessly on to get as perfect as possible with climate conditions more fit for mid June that the end of April.

More so than in previous weeks all races were well declared, and as it was a Sunday, Man of God duly obliged in the opening Hunt members race.

Man of God duly obliged in the opening Hunt members race.

On the back of a win for Tim Underwood the day before at Penhurst, Phil York on one of his own horses Kabanga Bay took the Five years old and over Open Maiden



We had a chat to Phil after the race who told us of his thoughts on the six year old gelding, and his possible thoughts on the future.

A very close finish of a quality Skinners Pet foods Ladies open saw the veteran at fourteen, Mostly Bob bring home the race for Owner,Trainer and jockey Hannah Gregory.

The Case family were well in attendance at Whitfield, and so much so took the Novice riders race for trainer and Mum Sarah Case and Jockey Son, 17 year old Charlie with Breaking the Bank.
We chat to Both of then after the race to find out more about the eight year old winner  and the set up they have at Edgcott with Dad Ben Case the dual purpose racehorse trainer.

Barbury Castle resident Laura Thomas had the perfect afternoon with a quick double. One with the trainer herself on board Billy Biscuit.

The other in the last race of the afternoon in the Conditions race Swingbride, this time with Johnny Bailey on board, a jockey having a peach of a season so far.

In between the Thomas double saw the 2m 4 f Intermediate race get taken by Proximo from the Stuart Morris Yard, ridden by Jack Andrews.

All together a well planned and attended meeting, this maybe the things to come as the season now in it's Autumn.
