LOUGH,STOCK & INCH PERFECT AT BRATTON DOWN

BRATTON DOWN
With just over a dozen point to point races to complete for the season Bratton Down hosted the Tiverton Staghounds meeting at the tricky little racecourse nestled amongst the sensational landscape of Devonshire countryside.
Good sized fields and six races planned on the card, the maiden open splitting into two divisions to give racegoers a little something extra for their entry coin.

The first race the hunt members, the lightest event of the day saw three runners to post. From the off only two runners were in the mix as Emma Watson on Le Clo De La Londe were left at the start.
Top Chief and Chris Barber and Matt Hampton on Whenharrymetsally fought all the way round, the latter taking the race by twenty lengths.
We have a chat to Matt after the race about the nine year old, and his reflections on the season.

Division two, girl power takes to the fore, as trainer Camilla Scott and jockey Vicky Wade with Tree Sparrow come home a six lengths winner from Fred Hutsby's Kinlochspelve. We chat to the jockey after the race.

Alex Edwards and trainer Phillip Rowley made a rare trip to the Devonshire course, and for their efforts notch up a quick double in the Intermediate and the Men's open.


Evens money favorite Namako takes the Intermediate, half a length from Rex Dingle on Winter Garden.
We chat to Alex quickly before going out on his next ride and winner.

4/7 favorite Temple Grandin takes the Volvo Men's open by two lengths from a hard chasing There's no Panic and Champion Men's point to point rider again this season Will Biddick.
Again we have a brief chat to the winning jockey about this stylish son of Presenting after the race.

Evens money favorite Namako takes the Intermediate,

Temple Grandin takes the Volvo Men's open by two lengths from a hard chasing There's no Panic and Champion Men's point to point rider again this season Will Biddick.

The ladies open, another close call was taken by another leading star of the season. This time in equine form Lough Inch from the East Anglian area and Tommy Morgan's yard takes his fifth race on the bounce, eighth race of the season and nineteenth race of the ten year olds career.

Tabitha Worsely on board the gelding keeps his legendary record going with a half a length win over Skylander, Tabitha erasing her earlier season ride on the horse when beaten at the post at the Norfolk Harriers meeting at Fakenham.

The final race of the day The Restricted saw a full field of sixteen to post, 7/4 favorite The Lizard King from the yard of Nicola Martin, ridden by Darren Edwards taking the race by  again a short margin, half a length from Vicky Wade on Guerrilla Tactics.
We chat to Darren after the race, about the eight year old and his thoughs on the season after the race.
