The Bluefin Sports Challenge Cup, a trophy that The Yellamen claimed the season before, and a semi final clash against possible league champions Flackwell Heath beckons.

This time though, Longlevens AFC are Ascots Quarter final opponants, a tough game as the home team, Longlevens are flying high in Divivision 1 of the Hellenic league.
The pitch deemed uplayable the day before with waterlogging proved a tough hurdle for both sides.

The game went to Extra time at 0-0, and in the first half of the extra play Jon Bennett strikes and gives the away side Ascot the key to the next door of the trophy.

A fair game, with both keepers Chris Grace and Ollie Hall pulling out some good stops throughout the game.

Hennessy Gold cup winner Many Clouds

After the early spring storms from the night before subside, early morning sunshine bathes the swooping valleys and hills of Lambourn, and a trip to Oliver sherwood's Roehurst stables.

On show Hennessy Gold cup Winner and 2015 Crabbies Grand National entrant Many Clouds, who casually greets the crowd as all top pro's do.

A trip up to Mandown to see second lot be put through it's paces, All horse about to run for the final hooray of the 2014-15 National Hunt season

Not only watching the horse gallop, but a rare glimps into  rehabilitation and equine Hydrotherapy in the pool.
To watch half a tonne of racehorse swim is the most beautiful and mind boggling experience. And a very special treat.

Thanks must be given to the Guv'nor Oliver Sherwood and his team who with professionalism and  politeness allowed us mere mortals into the world of the Valley of the racehorse.

Joe Grant scores the first

Again another win at the racecourse ground   for Ascot Utd. Another three points in the first of two parts of a local midweek derby.
The league have put together three local matches for the Yellamen, who go away to Scours Lane in seven days time to play Reading Town again. In between a chairmans cup quarter final game away to Longelevens in Gloucester, and a possible final 2014-15 season league game Versus Bracknell town.

The road to Cheltenham

CHAMPIONS DAY CHELTENHAM NH FESTIVAL 2015

With the Prestbury course packed to the rafters, the road to Chetenham started and to herald four days of champion racing, the first day of spring gave a pleasent seasons greetings.
The sun gods shone on a well attended first day at the festival meeting, and right to do so to. With the racing good and bold saying this had been the best looking opening card for years,the day did not dissapoint. Drama, tears, thrills and spills made National hunt racing go back to the days of fairytails and yarns. This day will be long remembered.
Atrainer from the emerald isle, Willie Mullins his third generation Champion Jockey Ruby Walsh played the staring role of the day.

Douvan

 Douvan in the Supreme Novices hurdle opened up not only the winning tally for the Irish Trainer and Jockey, but also the bookmakers bags. Odds on favorite and duly obliged, a start in the making of possibly another champion hurdler for the Mullins team. Who knows, the trainer always playing his cards to his chest.

Ruby Walsh

 Ruby Walsh, a quick double coming in on  Un De Sceaux in The Arkle. The race named after that great Irish champion whose skeleton at the Irish National stud must be rattling in sheer joy of his fellow countymens'dominance on the day. Could this be a set up for something special?

Chapion Hurdler 2015 Faugheen

And will this horse be around for some time. Faugheen. Rumours are this could be a start of a dynasty for this Irish horse in the Champion Hurdle, won like a good horse should, beating past champions. Not by luck, but by sure power

 Faugheen is an anglicised version of the Irish - Faichín - meaning a little green or playground.

The crowd resembled those who attened the terraces of Stamford Bridge more than the pictoresc landscape of Gloucestershire 'Ruby,Ruby,Ruby'

The bookies given a stay of execution. And though the day went on, a chill came over the sun soaked home of National Hunt racing and hung over Cleeve hill for the rest of the day.
