GALLOPING HORSEHEATH SHOW DOUBLE VISION FOR GINA AND JACK

RED MILLS INTERMEDIATE WINNING JOCKEY JACK ANDREWS

Seven point to point meetings held the length and breadth of the UK on a glorious early spring afternoon. Horseheath holds it'S last meeting of the 2016-17 season, The Puckeridge hunt being hosts for the day.

Not a vast amount of entries but shapeing up with a a few tasty morsels in amongst the  six races set before us.
The meeting offered an Horderve of three pony races before the main dish was served, and kicking off the day was a three runner event to contest the winner of the Horseheath Hunts club members race.

Banksandditches
Only running last weekend Banksandditches owned and trained by the Hobson family took the race in fine style from his only Challenger up to the line Legend to be.
Listen to the chat we had with Clare Hobson in the winners enclosure with her eleven year old.

Only three go to post in the ladies open. But boy what a three to send.

Trained by Alan hill the Milan ten year old gelding made most of the running to take the race with a demanding style.

Listen to me chat to Gina about the horse and her up and down sort of a week.

The men's open also did not disappoint in giving a good account of itself .Five runners to post and by the last fence two very promising horses Mr Raj from the Thomas Gallagher yard and Curraigflemens from the David Kemp stable locked horns head to head.
The Kemp horse running a little disappointingly for connections this season, set about the race for the first time with tongue strap on to help with breathing, the said piece of tack nearly working if not come up against a very nice nine year old in Mr Raj, a horse that Shane Roach jockey on Curraigflemens knows all too well from a win on him at Higham early on in the season.

Mr Raj, Sam Davies-Thomas and Thomas Gallagher

Listen to Thomas and owner John Reddington, two very knowledgeable Irishmen chat about the horse, his future and the riders.

Also we catch up with Sam Davies-Thomas jockey of this promising nine year old.

The Red mills Intermediate qualifier saw Jack Andrew follow his sister Gina into the doubles club with a fine win on another very promising  youngster in Nemond trained by Stuart Morris.
A plan set for this six year old could see him take on the final in May at Cheltenham's evening meeting for Hunter chases.
Listen to the trainer chat about the plan and the horse after his win.

And Jockey Jack Andrews, we chat about his double for the afternoon.

The final race of the day was PPORA club members race for Novice riders, this going to the Kristy Smith trained Bertie's Desire, ridden by young jockey Will Thirlby

NO YOKE CRACKED FOR THE INNUARGRAL HIGH EASTER RACING CLUB. SERIOUS RACING

Remarkable Man
Six quality races on fresh good, good to firm ground for the first of two meetings at the High Easter racecourse, usually set for one.

As most in the weighing room mentioned, people love sending horses, and riding horses at the venue that would put to the test a few professional courses dotted about the country.

The first race was the organizers members race for novice riders, won by a jockey on zero winners, and certainly no four faults, ex showjumper Tim Gredley on Silvergrove.

The Ladies open, another quality race saw the area specialists The Morgans take the race in a confident front running style.

Making most of the runner, getting a breather into the nine year old Decade Player half way round Tabatha Worsley made the race look simple.
Well that was until the last fence anyway.
A little bit of taking the eye off the game, caused a blunder at the last

David Kemp sent his  six year old to post Toosey for the open maiden. Ridden by Joe Hill, whose weighing room buddy Sam Davies - Thomas, otherwise engaged at Fontwell to ride for his boss Dan Skelton. the yound gelding seemed to relish the fresh unuraced  surface.
